The inter-racial film ‘Namaste Wahala’(hello trouble) globally got released on Valentine’s Day on Netflix starring Bollywood actor Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nigerian actress Ini Dima-Okojie in the lead roles. HamishaDaryani Ahuja did her directorial debut with this film which had been acclaimed as the first big collaboration between Bollywood and Nollywood. The film is a usual love story with a twist of an Indian boy falling in love with a Nigerian girl.
The idea of making a film of totally two different cultures came up in the mind of HamishaDaryani Ahuja from her own childhood experience of living in Nigeria and she always wanted to create a love story between the two mammoth film industries. With the directorial debut, she also acted in the film as a supporting actor and did her acting debut too.
According to Ruslaan Mumtaz, this film with a typical Bollywood vibe will be loved by the Nigerians. In this film, too like any other love story, the parents turn out to be villains in the minds of the children who try to make their lives safe and secure at the cost of the love story of the couple.
The cross-cultural film with an initiative to bind every film industry together and remove the inequality is definitely a one-time watch for all to just feel the different essence of a love story. The movie might not be liked by all but everyone should give it a try and have a feeling of this cross-culture work of this debutant.
