Film festival is no less than the Durga Puja for the cinephiles. Amidst the Pandemic situation when there is a huge pause in the entertainment industry, the 26th KIFF surfaced with the tagline “The show must go on”. There was quite a bit of confusion among the cinephiles whether the 26th KIFF would take place with the rising covid situation. Thanks to our government for organizing the festival with strict covid protocols.
Apart from the film screenings, ‘Cine Adda’ is another integral part of KIFF. On 13th Jan, the topic of the Cine Adda was “comedy and script”. The show was moderated by Raj Chakraborty and the panel included some of the eminent celebrities of Tollywood such as Ankush Hazra, Anirban Chakraborty, Manali, Raja Chandra, Rituparna Sengupta, Aparajita Addya and Tulika Basu.
As the adda continued Ankush said “The most important part of a comical scene is not the dialogue nor the character but the timing.” According to Tulika Basu, the person who does comedy well is a complete actor. Aparajita Addya said the timing of any comical scene depends on the actor’s sense. Reel life Eken Babu aka Anirban Chakraborty shared his experience playing the most favorite character of Eken Babu as well as his character in Lalbazar.
At the end of the show Rituparna Sengupta made her entry and was welcomed by Raj Chakraborty. According to her, script is equally important as well as comedy sense. She shared her experience of her film Main Meri Patni Aur Woh, where she starred against famous comedian Rajpal Yadav.
The Adda ended with a speech by Raj Chakraborty and he also said this adda will continue throughout the festival.
