The man behind the whole conceptualisation and visualisation of Krishti is Dr. Abhijit Banerjee, a doctor by profession but nurtures his deep passion for art and designs. Dr. Banerjee was present on the occasion and said, “I was always fascinated by colours, patterns and designs. When at the request of my friends, I dabbled with designs to be printed on tees for our annual school reunion; an idea began to take roots in my mind. I shared it with my wife Parbati, who too has passion for sarees and fabrics. Our joint endeavour gave birth to Krishti, which is to serve as an outlet for our creative ideas, in conjunction with the wonderful creativity of the artisans and craftsmen of our country. I intend to bring under its ambit not only garments but also new range of products, touching all spheres of our life and hence the tagline “Style and Lifestyle”.
Speaking on the occasion, DR. Parbati Banerjee, co-owner of Krishti said, “I always got inspiration from our mom’s wardrobe. When I grew up I inherited my mother’s taste for sarees. I myself have a decent collection, procured from all over India. Wherever I visit, I reach out to the artisans and ask them to weave as per my designs. When my husband sprang up with the idea of Krishti I took it seriously and today we are here with a wide range of designer sarees, which we have picked from all over India. We welcome all to our showroom. Here, we promise, there will be something for everyone.”
In the coming years Krishti plans to expand its presence globally. The product line will be enhanced by adding Men wear, Kids wear, Pillows, Cushions, pillow Cases, curtains and carpets.
