Kolkata, 7th September 2018, Friday Release, a brand new Bollywood themed restaurant in Salt Lake was launched to in the presence of popular actress Koneenica Banerjee and Mr. Supratik Ghosh, Managing Head, Friday Release today.
Friday Release is a 66 seater restaurant spread across an area of over 1400 square feet. The restaurant is divided into three sections, namely, Hum Saath Saath Hain,Andaz Apna Apna and Private Party which is a PDR zone separated from the main area by a red velvet curtain.
True to its name, the decor of the restaurant has features from the world of cinema. A ticket counter welcomes one at the entry gate. The overlying theme has been kept very retro with movie posters of iconic films and various Bollywood superstars adorning the walls. Vanity mirrors with lights, those resembling the ones in the green room decorates one of the walls whereas another wall is embellished with cinema reels. Vibrant blue and yellow chairs add pops of colour to complete the retro look.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Supratik Ghosh added, “Our love for cinema is never ending. So we came up with this concept where any cinephile can come and have a good time, where the love for good food and the world of cinema comes together in one plate.”
The USP of the cuisine is Indian street food with a twist besides the regular Mughlai, Continental and Chinese dishes. Vegetarian delicacies include Bhelpuri Shots,Jeera Mozzarella Paranthe, Dahi ke Kebab, Mushroom Galouti, Dal Chawal Aranchini and many others. Mozzarella Filled Tangri Kebab, Elaichi Mutton, Irani Keema Pao, Desi Chicken Wrap are the highlights of the non-vegetarian menu. There is also an international section of the street food menu which includes classic pasta dishes, risottos and other continental delicacies. Another unique feature of the menu is the ‘Friday Special’, a handful of new delectable recipes from the Chef’s kitchen which will be available every Friday.
The restaurant located at DD-24 A Salt Lake, Kolkata-700064 Sector -1, 2nd floor is open from 12 noon to 11 pm and the cost for two will be Rs 700 plus GST.
