The prestigious Brit Awards, one of music’s greatest awards in England, were hosted not a while ago, and it sure was an incredible treat to see the entertainment industry showing up, dressed their finest for the night. The awards ceremony took place at London’s O2 Arena in front of a live audience, and popular comedian Jack Whitehall hosted the show. The Brit Awards 2021 appeared to be an unforgettable celebration, with popular artists such as Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, and Taylor Swift those who are in presence.
Taylor Swift called receiving the Global Icon title an “Incredible Honor,” noting that it had previously been awarded to superstars such as Elton John and David Bowie.
“I’m really proud to be part of this musical community especially in a year where we needed music so much, and what we needed, even more, was the help and support of the NHS and the key workers that are here for us tonight.”, said Swift who became the first female artist to earn a Global Icon Award, and was among the major winners of the night.
Dua Lipa, who was announced a double winner at the Brit Awards in London on Tuesday night, appealed for a “fair” pay rise for UK health staff.
The grandeur of Britain’s leading music award ceremony was experienced by 4,000 people at the O2 Arena as part of a trial to check public participation activities in the era of the coronavirus. 2,500 primary health workers and their guests were among them, having been awarded tickets in appreciation of their contributions during the pandemic.
Little Mix was the first all-female band to win the best British group, drawing attention to the music industry’s “sexism and lack of diversity.” For his track “Watermelon Sugar,” Harry Styles won best British single, whereas, J Hus received best British male solo artist.
Arlo Parks and Griff, both female singer-songwriters, earned the British breakthrough artist and rising star awards, collectively.
Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States, sent a special message while presenting The Weeknd with the international male solo artist award.
Billie Eilish won the award for best international female solo artist, while Haim received the award for a best international group.
Lipa, Coldplay, and collaboration between Rag’n’Bone Man, P!nk, and National Health Service choirs were among the musical acts at the event.
The ceremony fell under the government’s Events Research Program, which has currently allowed audiences to come back to soccer games, an outdoor concert, and a nightclub in recent months. Attendees were not socially isolated or required to wear face masks, but they were asked to have a negative coronavirus test prior to the event.
