The Astor at 15, Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata, well known for it’s traditional style of scrumptious kebabs ushered in a new menu adding more variety to it’s splendid spread of delicacies.
Bringing the traditional flavours from tandoor with a modern twist, are dishes like Cheesy Murgh Khasnama Tangdee (chicken drumsticks marinated with aromatic spices from Mughal Era) or the sinfully delicious Lassoni Mahi Tikka (succulent fish chunks with burnt garlic).
In order to redefine itself as a multi cuisine hotel Kebab-E-Que introduced some new sections in its menu such as The Kolkata Calling which features some iconic Bengali dishes like Luchi, Aloo Posto, Dhakai Maacher Jhol, Chingri Malai Curry among others.
Speaking about the new menu launch, Executive Chef Alam Bose said: “The new menu focuses on maintaining our heritage but with a twist of contemporary to it. We want to bring back the feeling of nostalgia so that people can relive the old flavours and recollect their good old memories.”
The other highlight of the menu is the Asian Menu that includes dishes like Tom Kha Pak (Thak coconut soup prepared with vegetables,lime juice,lemon grass and finished with coconut milk), Chilli Garlic Fried Mushroom, Crispy Conjee Lamb among others.
Asked about the highly recommended dish from the menu Executive Chef Alam Bose mentioned the mouth watering Ran-e-Asto (roasted whole mutton leg) accompanied with Chef special Makhmali Paratha.
