This Valentine’s Day, Fortis Hospital Anandapur took the celebration of love, a step ahead by upholding the doctor-patient bonds. The hospital placed a message board at the main reception of the hospital and encouraged the patients to express their feeling of gratitude for their treating doctor. At the same time, the interested patients/patient parties also dropped a message to their treating doctor through a special Valentine’s Day greeting card kept at the hospital reception.
In current times, when the unconditional dedication of doctors towards their patients and their profession is continuously under the scanner, this initiative provided a platform for the patients and their families to showcase their immense respect and gratitude for their beloved doctors. The patients and patient parties participated in the activity with great enthusiasm and zeal and happily dropped in messages on the board. Around 72 message cards were also filled for the doctors, one of which stated, “Thank you for giving my strength back. I will be fine soon. Thank you!”
Expressing the passion that the doctors have for their work all through the year, Dr. Anindansu Basu, Consultant Orthopedic at Fortis Hospital Anandapur exclaimed, “My work and my patients are my true Valentine. It is not only my profession but my passion for life.” Dr. Sanjay Garg, Head of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences at Fortis Anandapur expressed positivity about this initiative saying, “Valentine’s Day is the personification of love. Love – a universal phenomenon- across all races and cultures. With the ever expanding technology and growing distances between individuals, any such initiative helps establish a bond and bridge the ever expanding gulf between humans.”
