Wed Dec 12: Kolkata girl Lopamudra Mandal recently came back from Goa after winning the crown of First Runner-up and Fashion Icon award of the prestigious beauty pageant Mrs India IAB 2018. She has also been made the Global Brand Ambassador of the Pageant who will be campaigning strongly for the motto “Fight Crime Against Women” and help survivors of violence find a voice. To mark her achievement, Lopamudra was felicitated by well-known personalities Imran Zaki, Satnam Ahluwalia and Indroneel Mukherjee on Wednesday December 12 at Press Club. The event was also attended by Anita Dutta, State Director, Mrs India IAB.
Talking about her journey, Lopamudra said, “I am extremely grateful to my friends and family who have always supported me in my endeavors. I come from a small town and to have come so far feels like a blessing.”
With a Masters Degree in English Literature, Lopamudra is also educated in Journalism, PR, Marketing and Fashion Designing. In 2000, she won the title of Miss Kolkata and did professional modeling for two years. After her marriage, she continued her professional journey by launching her fashion label Studio Eye and later became the curator of two successful exhibitions Meena Bazaar and High Street Market which continue to draw crowd. A well known social influencer and the Face of many international brands launched in Kolkata, Lopamudra hopes to gear up her act and through her recent victory at Mrs India IAB 2018, she wishes to make a difference in the lives of women.
“I have always worked with NGOs and helped them gain better visibility and standing. But with the help of crown I hope to make a bigger impact. As the Global Brand Ambassador, it is my duty to bring forth the plight of women and address issues that assail them. It has been a huge learning experience for me to be on the stage with so many beautiful and successful women and yet create an identity of my own,” said Lopamudra.
