Kolkata, 6th December 2018: Bangur Boi O Utsob Committee inaugurated ‘Pustak Parbon-2018’ today at Bangur Pumping Station Ground. The inauguration was followed by a Chorus song ‘Nao’ in the esteemed presence of eminent writers Shri Buddhadeb Guha, Shri Pracheta Gupta along with Shri Sudhanshu Shekhar Dey, Director, Publishers and Booksellers Guild; Shri Tridib Chattopadhyay, General  Secretary, Publisher and Bookseller Guild and Shri Goutam Ghose, eminent film director.  Shri Mriganka Bhattacharya, General Secretary, Bangur Boi O Utsav Committee was also present to address the media.

Pustak Parbon-2018” is a 10 day long book fair starting from 6th December till 16th December, 2018 from 5PM to 10PM. The fifth edition of Bangur Book Fair opened with the theme of ‘Kishor Sahitya’. The fair starts with more than 60 bookstalls starting from Ananda Publishers’ to Kishor Bharati and is meant to give an expedition like never before this year. Publications like Ananda Prakashan, Ananda Publishers Pvt. Ltd, Atmajaa Publishers, Bhasa-O-Sahitya, Bholanath Prakashani, Dev Sahitya Kutir (P) Ltd, Dey’s Publishing, Evolve, Karukatha, Modern Column, New Script, Patabahar Publication (P) Ltd, Patra Bharati, Sahitya Akademi, Saptarshi Prakashan, Shaibya Prakashan Bibhag, Shishu Pora, Tulikalam, Urbee Prakashan would be present with their priceless collection of books in this fair. Besides children’s literature the collection of books includes other genres which can quench the thirst of book lovers. The book fair would also present range of panel discussions with different topics for the book lovers.

Sri Mriganka Bhattacharya, Honorary General Secretary, Bangur Boi O Utsob Committee addressed the media saying, “We are extremely happy to organize the fifth edition of the Bangur Book Fair. The fair is getting bigger every year like this year also we will present a bunch of cultural performances which people will enjoy the most.”

The book fair promises lots of activities and competition including cultural programme, Sera Bouthan, Cooking Competition, Antaksari, Dance Performances , Music Competition, Debate, Quiz and more fun activities along with photography exhibition cum competition for the book lovers of the city this year. The participants’ age of 5 years to 60 years would participate in these activities.
