Kolkata, 24th August 2018: The Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, organized the 3rd edition of the Fortis National Psychology Quiz, aptly named ‘Psych-ED’ for school children across the country. The quiz is for class- Xl & Xll. The quiz was about their knowledge of psychology.
The quiz was conducted under the guidance of Dr Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare, the initiative witnessed national participation from over 880 schools from 299 cities in the country. This was the semi-final of the East Zonal round in which 36 students from 12 Schools had participated. The second runner up was- The Ballygunge Shiksha sadan(Kolkata), The first runner up was- Delhi Public School(Patna) and The Winner is Sunbeam Lahartara School(Varanasi). It was the final outcome of Today’s Semi Final.
During this competition the Winning Team from Each zone will qualify for the National Final which is scheduled on 1st September 2018 at Fortis Memorial Research Institute,Gurgaon. The First and Second Winner and Runners up will be Awarded Cash Prize Money of Rupees 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000.
All the Six Teams that will be qualified for grand finale ,will also be Awarded as free comprehensive physiology Internships from the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences at any of the Fortis centere.
Iffat Fatma from Sunbeam School Lahartara – Varanasi, who qualified with her two classmates for the national finals of Psych-ED 2018, said. “We were so excited about the quiz. It was a really fun experience. And I believe more schools need to be a part of this. We got a lot of help and support from our teachers and parents and the department of mental health also helped us giving us guidance on what to study and where to read things from.”
