Kolkata, 19 March,2018: AAJI E BOSHONTE, presented by Aantorik, Module Developers and Inner Circle Advertising opened with much fanfare at Rabindra Sadan. Conceptualized by interdisciplinary artist Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee.
This was not just an ode to spring but a remembrance of peace in this turmoil of humanity all across the world. The evening began with the felicitation of legendary media personality Chaitali Dasgupta, who surely led the art of conversation in the good old days of Doordarshan. There were a bevy of luminaries on stage to usher in Chaitali’s birthday–Rituparna Sengupta, Chaity Ghosal, Shreelekha Mitra,Saswati Guhathakurta, Prabuddha Raha,Debashish Kumar, Pramita Mallick,and many others.
Chaitali remembered her tryst with media and how today’s anchors on television have evolved their styles. Dressed in her signature self-designed SRAVASTI wardrobe. She blessed Sujoy and praised his panache and passion for arts. What followed was surely a stimulant for senses. The celebrations now manifested in the form of readings, music and choreography.
While Bidipta Chakraborty, Madhumita Basu and Chandreyee Ghosh entranced the audience with readings , Debamalya Chattopadhyay, Suchhanda Ghosh and Srabani Sen mesmerized with their rendition. The high-point of the evening was TUMI KICHU DIYE JAAO by Srabani Sen and O AMAAR CHAANDER AALO by Debamalya Chattopadhyay. The dancers were nothing less than brilliant through their evocative expressions and styles. Rubena Chatterjee, Arnab Bandopadhyay, Koneenica Bandopadhyay, Soumili Ghosh Biswas, Sandip Mallick, Sudarshan Chakraborty, Paramita Saha enthralled the full-house audience. The muse of the event was surely a dance solo by the the spian danseuse Guru Purnima Ghosh who presented NOBO BOSHONTER GAANER DAALI sung by Srabani Sen.
