Kolkata, 14th February, 2018: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is supporting a four member all Women Motorcycle Expedition to ASEAN region led by Ms. Jai Bharathi Addepalli of Hyderabad, Telengana.
This fifty-days expedition covering 16,992 Km has commenced from Hyderabad on 10th February 2018 and will cover countries in South Asia and Vietnam. The team was assisted by an eight member support unit including the production crew to document the expedition. The members of the expedition during their journey in India will be covering the states of Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Manipur, Nagaland, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The journey in the ASEAN countries would cover nineteen UNESCO World Heritage Sites and would also promote tourism to our country from the ASEAN region
“We are extremely happy to be associated with such an innovative initiative. This initiative to promote Motor Bike expedition to ASEAN region not just across the country but beyond it is both fascinating and intriguing. The flag off for the very first edition will be done tomorrow and we are very excited to see how the expedition goes” said Mr. Sudesh Poddar, the president of Hotel & Restaurant Association of Eastern India (HRAEI)
“Through this campaign we are trying to promote the road journey and it will help the riders to explore more hotels, restaurant and dhaba’s of road side. This will also help to highlight the Women safety” said Mr.J.P Shaw, regional director of Indian Tourism.
