Oppo has launched a new smartphone in India called Oppo F5. The successor to Oppo F3 has a 6 inches screen and a 20- megapixel front camera powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the real-time image processing of selfies.
The Oppo F5 has two variants – 4GB RAM with 32GB storage priced at Rs 19,990, whereas the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 24,990. The smartphone will be available from November 9, 2017. Pre-ordering of the phone has already started online.
To compete in the market of edge-to-edge display with Samsung Galaxy S8, Google Pixel 2 XL, Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone X, Oppo F5 is the company’s first smartphone to feature an edge-to-edge display.
The full HD 6-inch display has an aspect ratio of 18:9. The 20 megapixel front camera is the game changer as Oppo believes that today’s smartphone industry is driven by camera quality and image precision. Loaded with a AI software, the smartphone can recognize skin type, skin tone and gender to get the best photo of you. It is also optimized to enhance the symmetry between features such as your jawline, cheekbones, nose and eyes for a perfectly natural and refined selfie.
The Oppo F5 is powered by a MediaTek MT6763T octa-core SoC paired with Mali G71 GPU for graphics. The smartphone is armed with a 3200mAh battery, and connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM card support, 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi. On the software front, it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 on top.
