Binge eating disorder is a compulsive eating disorder mainly observed in young adolescents. It is specially observed in women. It is habit of eating at night. The main reason is to overcome depression. The responsible factors for binge eating disorder are biological hormonal changes, emotional ups and downs, low self-esteem, sexual abuse, body dissatisfaction, social and cultural pressure.

Symptoms
The notable signs and symptoms of this disorder is when a person starts stockpiling food to eat secretly at night time; when a person gorges food in isolated manner, continue eating even when he or she is full, experiencing stress and anxiety and eat unhealthy foods; never feels satisfied even after consuming a large quantity of food.
Problems
Complications like diabetes type II, cardiac problem, obesity, sleeping apnea/ insomnia, hypertension, Gastrointestinal disorders, gall bladder disease can be observed in a person suffering from binge eating disorder.
Treatment
Treatment for this kind of disorder is challenging. There are ways like several therapies including changes in thinking and behavioral pattern, interactions of group of family members who can render support to the person suffering from disorders, medication with the help of physicians. Psychiatric along with nutrition counseling can be really helpful in overcoming such disorders.
