You might just put all your efforts into that glowing skin, but do you really pay attention to body care as much as your face? Although your facial skincare gets all of the focus, your summer body needs some too. And by summer body, a swimsuit body is not enough! We mean a body that has been well-cared for, groomed, and adorned to make you feel great.
We certainly neglect our bodies despite all of our skincare efforts, so here are some suggestions to help you take proper care of your body:
Brushing with a dry brush
You might see this one become all the rage on Instagram, but dry brushing might seem like a struggle to do in real life. But for your best, make the most of this underappreciated ritual while you’re on lockdown and have time to spare. Dry brushing reduces inflammation, evens skin tone, acts as a natural exfoliator, boosts immunity, and increases blood circulation. The lymphatic system is both stimulated and drained by this. Get yourself a good brush to peel off dead skin cells and get rid of toxins that have accumulated in your body.
Body oils
Go for body oils rather than heavy creams or body butter, during summers. Oils are lighter in consistency and they absorb quickly, giving a smooth but light feeling.
If you suffer from dry skin, opt for a nourishing oil as it can enhance skin appearance and provide relief from rough, dry, and brittle skin. Now, oil can do miracles, and you can use it straight or mix some drops into your daily body moisturizer to rejuvenate your skin.
Learn to exfoliate well
The key to healthy skin is Exfoliation. Exfoliate your skin with a body scrub, at least once a week, that gently removes the dry or damaged skin and soothes it — go for primary components like Glycolic acid, Ginseng, Aloe, Lactic acid, and small grains for an effective exfoliation.
Sunscreen is important!
Sunscreen isn’t just meant for your face; it’s also for your body, so opt for SPF-containing sunscreen sprays or body lotions. According to studies, regular usage of sunscreen has been shown to reduce the risk of skin cancer and prevent anti-aging like wrinkles. Don’t forget to pay attention to your elbows, spine, and underarms, which are often overlooked.
