Ingredients required: –
- 2 cups of milk (at room temp.)
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 cups whole wheat / all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar (add more if you want to make it sweeter)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup oil (or melted butter)
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- ½ cup Nutella
Requirements
To make buttermilk, combine milk and vinegar in a mixing bowl. Allow this to sit for 5-10 minutes after thoroughly mixing. Combine the flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of the bowl with this mixture. Combine the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and melted butter/oil in a mixing bowl. Combine thoroughly. Now, add some hot water to the batter and mix it just enough. Take care not to overmix in this case. Fill a squeezy bottle halfway with batter and set it aside. Microwave the Nutella for 10 seconds to achieve a smooth and pipeable consistency.
Fill a piping bag halfway with this mixture. Squeeze the pancake batter into the pan, filling it only halfway. Pipe Nutella into the centre of each pancake as quickly as possible. Fill with as much Nutella as you want. Squeeze out more pancake batter over the top to completely cover the surface. After a few minutes, flip the pancake bomb over and allow it to finish cooking on the other side. Serve these while they are still warm and crisp!
