Everybody wants a hygienic and clean body. During the summers it is more of a task to keep ourselves fresh and hydrated with proper cleanliness. Waxing is one of them to have clean and smooth skin. Normally hands, underarms, and legs are waxed, and it is clinically safe, but what about bikini waxing or Brazilian waxing, are they really that safe?
Let us first understand what ‘Bikini Waxing’ is.
Bikini waxing is the removal of pubic hair using a special kind of wax, which can be either hot or cold, that adheres to hairs and pulls them out when the wax is removed quickly from the skin, usually with a cloth strip. While the practice is mainly associated with women, male waxing is sometimes done to remove men’s pubic hair.
Pros
- One will get long-lasting and hair-free skin, unlike other hair removal methods, bikini waxing helps in removing hair from the root.
- Hair regrowth is slow and thin as waxing removes hair from the root, the hair will take much longer to grow back than it will with other hair removal methods.
- It is fast and has minimal discomfort.
Cons
- Very common is the injury that leads to cuts with burns and rashes. Many cases required medical attention too.
- Infections are definite, pubic hair is very important as it works as a protector by getting rid of pathogens that could enter the body.
- Bikini waxing makes a person susceptible to different diseases like cellulitis, folliculitis.
- Boils may occur as red bumps on the surface of the skin which may lead to septic.
It is always applicable to avoid bikini waxing and if it is of very urgency then go for trimming and never remove it from the roots.
