Valentine’s week is almost around the corner and when it comes to movies there are umpteen of them that can be viewed on Valentine’s day, but it is almost impossible to view them all in one weekend so here are some of the best romantic movies of recent times :
Begin Again: This is John Carney’s second musical after the success of ‘Once’. ‘Begin Again’ is a story of two people finding hope in new beginnings that comes to them in form of music. They walk the streets and share intimacy in the disguise of playlists and guilty pleasure in form of weird songs. Dan (Mark Ruffalo) and Gretta(Keira Knightly) share a beautiful musical bond and this movie is the best watch for anybody who shares a musical bond with someone.
Before We Go: The film that is directed by Chris Evans himself follows a night where Nick (Chris Evans) and Brooke (Alice Eve), two strangers meet each other at a station and learn more about love and life over their pasts and present, eventually developing a love for each other.
Before Trilogy: Not only is the ‘Before Trilogy’ by Richard Linklater hailed as a romantic masterpiece, but also as a beautiful account of the life and “How everything we do in life is a way to be loved a little more”. The movies that follow the love and life of Celine and Jesse, stars Ethan Hawke and Julia Delpy.
To All The Boys I Have Loved Before: Based on a novel by American author Jenny Han, this is the perfect watch for anybody who has crushed over a senior in school or college. The film follows events of how Lara Jean’s life turns upside and down when her sister sends all the letters to her crushes that she had written. The film stars Noah Centineo and Lana Condor in lead roles.
Pride and Prejudice (2005): Pride and Prejudice is based on a novel of the same name by Jane Austen. The movie that stars Keira Knightley and Mathew Macfadyen follow the struggle of Elizabeth Bennet to find a perfect match with her ideologies acting as her biggest obstacle.
La la land: The film directed by Damien Chazelle won 5 academy awards at the 2017 Oscars including the best director and best actress (Emma Stone). The musical romantic drama follows the lives of Mia and Sebastian as they fall in love with each other and eventually venture into the worlds of their respective dreams.
