5 Ways to Prevent Dandruff in Winters

-

In the winters it is the worst time for the hair which already has dandruff in it and due to this weather, the scalp becomes dry and feels very itchy causing dandruff in a more messy way. Although it is possible to get rid of it forever but to prevent it just during the winters, there are few ways which you should follow:

  • Comb your hair adequately

Brushing your hair properly on a regular basis helps to stimulate blood circulation and helps to increase the secretion of oil thus resulting in healthy hair and scalp which makes it well-nourished and dandruff-free.

  • Drink a sufficient amount of water

During the winters we tend to forget to drink more water and this leads to dehydration of skin and hair which causes more dandruff. It is necessary to drink at least 5litres of water every day.

  • Try to avoid direct heat

Direct heat is always dangerous for hair and using hair dryers to dry the hair quickly can lead to damage of hair and make the scalp dry causing dandruff. It is best to dry your hair naturally.

  • Use homemade mask

One can use coconut oil and lime juice together to make a mask as coconut oil moisturizes and hydrates the scalp and lime juice cleanses and maintains the ph balance to prevent the fungus. Take coconut oil and massage it in a circular motion and then in a bowl add 1 teaspoon lime juice and 6 teaspoon water and dab it with a cotton ball on your scalp, keep it for 20 minutes and wash it with anti-dandruff shampoo.

  • Use apple cider vinegar(ACV)

It is said to be the best natural remedy to get rid of dandruff. To make the ACV paste you need equal parts of water and this vinegar, (if 2tbsp vinegar then 2tbsp water) mix it and keep it aside and after washing the hair apply it on wet hair and keep it for 15 mins and rinse it off. You can use it twice a week to get the best results.
