Tribhanga, is a dance posture in Odissi as Anu (Kajol), compares herself to it, tedhi, medhi, crazy. The story follows as Anu’s mother, Nayan (Tanvi Azmi) slips into coma and we delve into the world of choices and decisions taken by women, most specifically mothers. We soon realize, that what seemed perfect too has its own flaws.
This is yesteryear Bollywood actress, Renuka Sahane’s bollywood directorial debut, and she has done quite a decent job with the film. The cast especially Tanvi Azmi and Kajol have eased their roles, but it would have been better if Mithila Palkar and Kunal Roy Kapoor were given more screen time. The screenplay is good, but Kajol’s character could’ve used some powerful dialogues instead of succumbing to profanities.
Clearly, the concept was something new and Bollywood needs more of these films, that celebrates human flaws and mistakes and accept them like they are, there is also a message about how parenting can never be perfect, how mistakes will always be made even if we are careful of the mistakes our own parents made.
