The third edition of Tantidhatri festival 2019, the International women’s performing Art Festival initiated by noted folk artist Parvathy Baul was inaugurated at Rabindra Tirtha, New Town, yesterday. Parvathy Baul along with so many dignitaries from various fields like Pramita Mallick, Nandita Pal Choudhury, Dolly Basu, Dipannita Acharya, Mousumi Bhowmick, Seema Kohli, Amaranta( Mexico),Maristella (Italy),Eleonor ( France ) and so on were graced the inaugural ceremony. The entire sessions were presented by the noted interdisciplinary artist Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee.
Noted Tagore song exponent Pramita Mallick sang ” Ami Chitrangada” while Mudiyettu a traditional ritual also were performed at the do. On the inaugural day Seema Kohli performed an act In Silence The Secrets Speak. Parvathy Baul said, ” It’s an international platform to celebrate women’s performing art. This is the first time it’s happening in our city of joy. It gives an opportunity to exchange our cultural intelligence.” The participating countries are India, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, France, Argentina, Norway, Poland, Korea, Italy and so on.
