Indian Leather Products Association 2018 presents “Leather on the Ramp”

Kolkata, February 22, 2018: Indian Leather Products Association is all geared up for their annual fashion extravaganza ILPA 2018, Leather on the Ramp. The conference announcing the same was held at ITC, Kolkata on February 22. The event was a curtain raiser for the ILPA FASHION SHOW scheduled to be held on February 26, 2018.

The afternoon conference was presided by ILPA Chairman Mr Akash Nayyar, President Adhar Sahni, Vice Presidents Aloke Kumar Sengupta and Arjun Mukund Kulkarni .

The top six brands and manufacturers participating at the show this year include Rajada, Freya, Kompanero, Trio, Hunt and ASG who is sponsoring FDDI budding designers to showcase their products. Models present at the event included Iqbal, Shabbir, Diti, Jessica, Sonal, Madhabilta and Arti. The choreography for ILPA 2018 is being done by Pinky Kenworthy. The garments are designed by fashion designer Tejas Gandhi.

“We are looking forward to a great show and year ahead for ILPA. As a team we would like to initiate building of Common Facility Centre for finished leather, Clean and Green initiative, where we would like to strive towards a healthier and environmental friendly process. The new mega cluster project is going hand in hand with MSME. We also look forward towards participating at Mipel 114 and to organise a buyer and seller meet in the year 2019, ”said the panellists at the curtain raiser of ILPA 2018.

The President introduced the Platinium sponsor Trio, hospitality partner & finally face of ILPA 2018, actress Sayani Datta.

Apart from being a curtain raiser, the conference saw panellists discuss the large arena of production, the newness and advancement imbibed by the Leather Industry in India and how they aims to inculcate the latest fashion trends and vogue in each of their new collection. 

The Indian Leather Products Association established in 1987, is a premier representative body of manufacturers and exporters of leather and leather products across the country with head office in Kolkata a Regional Office in Chennai.

The organisation works actively worked to bring together manufacturer–exporters and merchant-exporters of leather products of India on a common platform to stimulate growth and development of the leather sector.

It strives to develop and maintain a reciprocal relationship with professional bodies, importers associations and the Chambers of Commerce abroad in order to support and promote export of leather products.

It takes an active step forward for its members by regularly undertaking market surveys/studies in foreign countries, organizing and participating in Trade Fairs / Exhibitions, Workshops / Seminars, Buyer Seller Meets – both domestically and internationally. ILPA has been closely involved in the setting up of the Calcutta Leather Complex, which is the largest project of its kind in the world.
