Kolkata, 9th February 2018: The issue of women’s safety in India has been in the news frequently lately, keeping in mind, All India Seishinkai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Federationorganized a mega event on “Women Self-Defense” in the esteemed presence of Former Indian Opener and Cricket Commentator, Mr. Arun Lal today at The Stadel. Mr. Premjit Sen, Joint Chairman, All India Seishinkai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation was present to address the media.
The event witnessed the participation of more than 300 girls’ from different Schools of West Bengal. They were taught the sensitive approach of self-defense, the real life techniques to defeat from an attacker. They performed and displayed strength and women empowerment on the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Premjit Sen, Joint Chairman, All India Seishinkai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation said, “The whole idea behind this event was to create an awareness about women safety and to make all the women learn to protect themselves against violent situations. 1 out of 3 women will be attacked by someone they know and trust. We are hosing the workshop to make them learn basic techniques and proven tactics to help and protect themselves and their loved ones to become a victim of crime. Self defense is so important in today’s society. It’s not just that you might get mugged. It’s more for confidence.”
The event was also followed by the Black Belt Gradation Examination where more than 600 students became Black Belt.
