Dona Ganguly, an ace Odisi exponent celebrated the festival of colors, Basanta Utsav 2018 at the Indian Museum, Kolkata jointly organized by the Indian Museum, Diksha Manjari and India Tourism.
It was an opportunity for budding dancers to take a part into the grand celebration of Basanta Utsav. Dancers had the opportunity to be a part of the celebration while selected dancers out of the two day workshop also participated on the final day.
It was graced by the august presence of Rajesh Purohit (Dir., Indian Museum ), J.P.Shaw ( Regional Dir., Indian Museum ), Dona Ganguly ( Dir. Diksha Manjari) and so on.Dona Ganguly, choreographer, said “We have got an excellent response from budding dancers from our city. It was open to all just not meant for my students. Anyone who has the love for dance could join us. We had sorted fifty talented dancers out of the two-days workshop for the final day. It was 800 dancers along with this shortlisted dancers took part on the final day.”

She added, “We celebrated songs meant for this festival of colors on this occasion. Songs from films like Desh Rangeela, Khelbo Holi Rang Debona, Mujhe Rang De besides semi classical numbers were in our list. It was basically to promote our cultural heritage among our citizen besides international tourists.“
