The concert featured the legendary playback singer Jolly Mukherjee who succesfully delivered classic numbers like Om Shanti Om from the film Karz to which the audience swayed and had a moment of joy. Zindagi Ek Safar also featured Akriti Kakkar, a celebrated playback singer in Bollywood, Anwesha Dutta, a former Zee Saregamapa champion. Singers Saptak and Sourav also payed tribute to the master’s songs.
A musical evening is definitely incomplete without the musicians playing on stage who help in making it one of a kind spectacle. The spectacular evening had legendary musician Kishore Sodha on the Trumpet with his brother the illustrious Raj Sodha on the Saxophone, who accompanied Kishore Kumar in his live shows 1980 onwards. Nitin Shankar on Percussions and Sunil Kaushik on Guitar, celebrated musicians of the R.D Burman team were also present on stage enlightening and entertaining the audience with their exceptional playing skills. Further, a team of accomplished musicians from Kolkata, led by Rocket Mondal & Deb Shankar Roy of the Violin Brothers enthralled the audience.
The show was hosted by Saheb Chattopadhyay, a leading face of Television in Bengal and an accomplished singer himself.
Science City auditorium definitely witnessed a gala eveing with the legends paying tribute to the master which has succesfully managed to leave a mark on the audience.
