-

Gulzar – a poet, a lyricist, film maker, an elocutionist even an actor was in Kolkata for the launch of his books.

Gulzar was introduced to the Bengali Literature when he first met Tagore through his books. Before sharing his literary creations, he took a walk around the museum, feeling the pain of people where  an exhibition on Gulzar was also held which featured some rare documents like film posters, booklets, photographs, book covers and so on.

But now it is the time to release two of his books in Bengali – one is Pantabhate translated by Sanchari Mukherjee which is basically revolving around remembrance of some great Bengali personalities whom he met in the journey of his career like R.D. Burman , Salil Chowdhury ,Satyajit Ray and so on. And the other one was Pluto translated by Sk. Sadar Nayeem . Gulzar said, it is a book of his poetry those never got a room in any of his earlier books, finally got a room with Pluto. . Both the books are published by Dey’s Publishing and launched by eminent poet Sankha Ghosh and prominently acclaimed filmmaker Sandip Ray which was followed by an adda session “Guftgu with Gulzar” with musical man Shantanu Moitra, Srijato at Nandan.

Gulzar expressed his love for Bengali and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. And the most overwhelmed moment was when he praised the thoughts of the young generation. The event concluded with some remarkable poetry of Gulzar, mixed with the sense of delight and admiration.
