Digital content across the World is changing and Bengal is following suite. Shree Venkatesh Films, a Kolkata based production house has conceived HoiChoi.tv – an on-demand Video Streaming Website and App which has Movies, Audio Streaming, Original Shows and Live TV. Hoichoi is set to contain 500+ Movies, 500+ Songs, 10 exclusive Original Shows. The App for the same would be available on Android and IOS platforms.
IBTN9 caught up with the production house shooting their original web-series across Kolkata. The shoot for three web-series is currently going on viz. “Cartoon”, “Hello” and “Holy Phaank!”
Though the house is quite tight-lipped about their new project, we managed to get a closer look at the actors shooting and what these films are about!
In an official statement SVF said: “Regarding the film Cartoon, it is a thriller that stars Payel Sarkar (Jiniya), Sumanta Mukherjee, Moinak Banerjee (Aritra) and Saswati Guha Thakurata among others. The story revolves around a cartoonist named Aritra, who shifts to a new flat for convenience of travelling to office. Very soon, he realises that there is something unusual about the house where he meets with quite a few paranormal experiences. Slowly he understands that it’s not him but the cartoons he has drawn that is bothering the spirit residing in his flat. Jiniya feels it is a paranormal force which is constantly threatening him to evict or kill him. The two of them start searching together, for the dark secret lurking behind the walls.”
“The second film in the original web-series is named Hello and this too is a thriller. The film boasts of a stellar cast in Raima Sen (Nandita), Priyanka Sarkar (Nina) and Joy Sengupta (Ananyo). The film revolves around Nandita, a woman in her thirties, who is married to Ananyo and have two children together, Muniya and Jojo. Ananyo, as it turns out, has an affair with Nina. Nandita and Ananyo’s marriage takes a toll when Nandita’s phone is flooded with numerous MMS-es from an unknown number recording Ananyo and Nina’s private moments. Although Nandita is shattered initially, obligated to sustain their marriage because of the kids, her attention gradually shifts from Ananyo’s infidelity to the stranger sending her the MMS-es. With the help of her sister-in-law Nandita tries to track the unknown number”.
“Our final one in the currently on-going shooting is called Holy Phaank! And it is a Rom-Com with elements of Drama starring youngsters Soumya MUkherji (Indra) and Anamika Chakraborty (Diya) with the veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay as Indra’s grandfather; and directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya. Diya is a modern girl who believes in marriage and agrees to marry a suitor of her father’s choice but dates according to her whims. On the other hand, Indra, Diya’s boyfriend is monogamous. In order to marry the man chosen by her dad, Akhilesh, she leaves Indra by complicating situations complicated for Indra, who then decides to marry the girl chosen by his parents out of anger. Meanwhile, Indra’s grandfather befriends Diya’s grandmother over social media. Their newly formed friendship now becomes the reason for their grandchildren to get back as a couple.”
