NASA: Astronauts Growing Vegetables in Space

This is as interesting as it sounds. NASA scientists have confirmed that astronauts on the International Space Station are ready to sample a crop of ‘Outredgeous’ red romaine lettuce grown in space.

NASA states, “growing vegetables in space shall help mature the technology to provide future pioneers with a sustainable food supplement“. According to the organization, this is a crucial part of their journey to Mars.
