Farhan Akhtar delays ‘Toofaan’, amidst coronavirus crisis

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar on Monday announced that the release date of his upcoming sports movie, ‘Toofan’ has been postponed due to the increasing cases of the second painful coronavirus wave.

The actor took to his Instagram handle and shared the statement, “The situation in India is really bad, and we at Excel Entertainment and ROMP Pictures send our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the epidemic. The tweet went on to say, “Given the seriousness of the situation, we are very much focused on the epidemic and in supporting our employees, their families, and the wider community. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of our film ‘Toofaan’ until the condition improves. We will issue an update about the new release date in a timely manner. ”

It also asked fans to look at all safety precautions when dealing with leading numbers and added, “Please continue to look at Covidbehavior. And. please register and be vaccinated when it is your turn. On behalf of the entire Toofaan team, we urge you to stay home, stay safe and stay united. “Jai Hind.”

The film was supposed to stream on Amazon Prime Video on May 21st, 2021. Released by RiteshSidhwani (Excel Entertainment), RakeyshOmprakashMehra (ROMP Images), and Farhan, a red-hot sports drama assisted by Rakeysh.

‘Toofaan’ tells the story of a boxer marking Farhan’s second collaboration with Rakeysh after the great success of ‘BhaagMilkhaBhaag’, a biopic based on Indian athlete Milkha Singh. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Mohan Agashe, and DarshanKumaar. The movie was originally scheduled for an October 2020 release but was later delayed due to a rapidly increasing coronavirus infection. In the film, Farhan will be seen as a national boxer. The movie was shot all over Mumbai in real places like the Dongri slums and Gateway Of India.

Farhan was last seen on screen in, ‘The Sky is Pink’, in which he worked with Prianka Chopra Jonas, Zaira Wasim, and RohitSaraf.
