The adventure tourer or bikes that can go off-roading and tour are gaining popularity in India, and suddenly we are getting adventure tourer starting from 250cc to all the way up to 1000 cc. But we only had few middleweights in options. But now we have multiple middleweights and one such bike is Honda’s CB-500X, the bike is powered by a 471.03cc twin cylinder heart that can churn up to 47.5ps power and 43.2Nm of torque. While Honda is taking on the Kawasaki Versus 650 in the particular segment, however, the price is on the higher side of the spectrum.
The CB-500X gets 41mm telescopic front forks and prolink monoshock both offer a pre-load adjustability, and this feature really comes in handy for ADV’s. However for LCD used has a negative display which decreases the appeal for the bike, but it doesn’t affect the purpose. The LCD display gives information about dual trip meters, fuel level and consumption, gear position, and gear shift indicator as well as the usual speedometer, tachometer functions too.
The ADV offers a decent 181 mm of ground clearance, however, with the alloy wheels with block pattern tire the bike will go mild off-roading. The bike gets a step-up seat, a big muscular tank, and a V-shaped LED headlight with a tall windscreen to provide better protection from wind blast. The bike also offers dual-channel ABS as standard and a seat height of 830mm so the shortest riders can also have a comfortable ride.
The bike gets 17-inch black alloy wheels that further enhances the beauty of the bike, while all LED indicators and tail lamp gives the bike a clean look. While the down swept exhaust makes the bike more appealing. And the tall positioning of the handlebar will give the rider a comfortable upright posture. The bike is priced at ₹6.87Lakh (ex-showroom) which might seem a bit over-priced but being a Honda it can retain its value and performance for a long time.
