In the 93rd Academy Awards for International feature film category after ‘Jallikattu’ by Lijo Jose Pellissery, another eligible contender chosen for the short film category is ‘Shameless’ which is written and directed by Keith Gomes. Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal, and Rishabh Kapoor were the cast starred in the 15 minutes comedy-thriller short feature film.
The film revolves around the thought of the human spirit amongst us due to the extreme increase of techno-driven current society. The total theme is a black comedy – both visually and thematically, but there is a message of gentleness, morality, hope, and compassion. The film has been one of the top trending short films in the Oscar 2021 posts on social media under the hashtag #oscar21. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, owner of the production house Chopra Jonas, uploaded the poster of ‘Shameless’ to her Instagram story requesting mass to support short films actively contesting for the Oscars. Starting from Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana to Hritik Roshan, everyone is overwhelmed by the Indian Film that is making it to the Oscars 2021 and gave loud applause to the entire team.
Sayani Gupta is making it big by leaps and bounds and heading towards the top with her impeccable natural and method acting. Starting from ‘Margarita with a Straw’, ‘Article 15’, web series ‘Four More Shots Please, she got extremely positive responses and massive recognition. “My experience on Shameless was fantastic and now we submitting to the Oscars, it’s a wow! Keith is wonderful as a director and very gentle with his actors and crew. Hussain, of course, is a great friend, and it was a ball working with him. We have a silent communication and understanding when it comes to improvisations,” said Sayani.
