Lopamudra Mitra’s new innings With Chaaron Foundation

-

Lopamudra Mitra, the renowned singer, who had taken the stance to do things completely different throughout her career, has been, keenly involved and completely immersed in the revival of lost art & craft, heritage weaves and has been working relentlessly to bring to the fore the unsung heroes who carefully preserve Indian culture, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage and showcase them to the world.

Chaaron is the culmination of that dream. Founded by Lopamudra Mitra, Chaaron will sing those amazing, glorious songs of the diverse Indian art, culture & craft and promises to showcase products, artists, and artisans to the new generation to not only bring their talents to light but also to aid and promote the livelihood of many such.

Set up as a Non-Profit Trust, Chaaron has already been closely involved in lending a helping hand to many during the pandemic struck economic situation and in the post-Amphan period.

Chaaron starts its journey with a small educational excursion to the place we’ve been to Shantiniketan between   5 February to 7 February, but this time this trip will be different. Those traveling with her will learn the nuances of alpona by the doyen of this fast dying heritage art form of Bengal, they will create jewelry out of dried grass and do a lot of things that the typical weekend tourists don’t get to do.

We look forward to expanding our horizons and keep making such memorable efforts in the coming days as well.”It is to celebrate unsung heroes of our root culture, their contribution to our society. It’s an educational excursion to promote Indian art, culture, craft and to showcase products, artists, artisans to a new generation to not to bring their talents to light but also to aid and livelihood of many such. We are starting from Santiniketan. Then gradually we can move to other parts in Bengal even beyond that,” says Lopamudra Mitra. She adds,” It is also to promote local traveling spots. Many travelers wish to visit some roads less traveled. I believe those travelers would get the best-desired destinations with some more interesting elements.”
