The year 2021 started with both good and bad news, as the COVID-19 vaccines cleared the trial period, new reports of mutated Covid has emerged now. But the bad news from the beginning was that everything has become more expensive, be it a vehicle or some perishables, as the pandemic caused a lot of financial losses. Thus the price hike has become a new-normal thing today, as the price of raw materials has increased to produce something has also increased, making it the only alternative option for automobile manufacturers.
People who are still planning to get a new car in 2021, might have to pay more to own one. As the price of most of the cars is up by at least a couple of grand, while most of them now get some extra features and new cosmetic updates.
For starters now you have to shell more money for Mahindra Thar which is now hiked by ₹20,000 for the base variant. So are Kia Seltos and Sonet, and Nissan’s Magnite XE the base variant is now ₹50,000 dearer. But it is not all bad news, as Ford seems the only brand who is offering their Eco Spot SUV with a slashed price of ₹39,000 on the top variant but the base also shelled ₹20,000 while the Titanium gets a price slash of ₹1,000 only.
Now for the bike lovers, it is not good news as all two-wheelers may it be a bike or a scooter it has become costlier now. Like cars, some of the two-wheelers get a new color option, while some have come up with a new face-lift, but the common factor of price hike remains the same. For instance, Royal Enfield had increased the price of every vehicle the company offers. The price of every Hero bike or scooter has also increased, while the Xtreme 160 and 200 are hiked add so is Xpulse.
The TVS’s Apache range is now pricier, as you might have to pay ₹3,000 more for the RR 310 and ₹1,000 or more for the lower variants of Apache. Honda scooters are also going to cost more and so is H’ness CB350. And finally the Austrian and Swedish manufacturers, KTM and Husqvarna have also decided to increase the price of their motorcycles too.
