On the 159th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, Abhibayakti a cultural organization came up with a unique concept to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti over the digital sphere. “Sudurer Piyashi” an amalgamation of Poem, Audio Drama and Songs of Rabindranath Tagore is being compiled to pay tribute to the Polymath.
Eminent artists from Bengali film, television & Radio industry collaborated to perform and celebrate by staying back at their home: Biswajit Chakraborty, Sudip Mukherjee, Satarupa Sanyal, Sankar Chakraborty, Ranjana Bhanja, Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Soumitra Basu, Srabonti Majumder, Dibyendu Mukherjee and many more have come together to make this initiative a successful one. Actor Soumitra Basu narrated the childhood stories of Rabindranath Tagore and shared some of the unknown facts related to the birth of Tagore. Sankar Chakraborty one of the popular actors of Bengali film industry recited the poem “Porichoy”, Satinath Mukhopadhyay beautifully acted on the short story “Sukkho Bichar” and insisted on some of the comic aspect of Tagore’s stories, lastly Sudip Mukherjee acted on his own rendition of the famous drama “Raktakabari” followed by Rabindra Sangeet.
