23 January,2020,Kolkata: Bengali rock band, Prithibi is officially formed in Kolkata, India in the year 2001 at Asutosh College. The band became more popular with audiences when they stood first runner up in a competition, Band-E-Mataram in the year 2005. This 18 year old band now has 3 albums (all released under Asha Audio). And a song that was featured in Kaushik Ganguly’s film, Kishore Kumar Junior.
However, December 2019 the band got dissolved due to some internal issues. 3 members of the 4-piece line-up left the band. Koushik however, re-formed the band this January, naming it Reincarnation 2020. The present members are all fresh faces and of the younger generation, as Koushik believes in them. The present line up : Kaushik (lead vocals, composer, lyricist), Deep (bass, backing vocals), Arunangshu (guitar) and Aniruddha (drums, percussions & backing vocal) , Deepayan ( keyboard , backing vocal) , Debangshu (guitar).
The band celebrated a re-launch ceremony today besides a special screening of their debut music video “Mukti” featuring the new band members.The name of the song is Mukti, which deals breaking away from emotional bondage and hopelessness and again staring afresh The video has been directed by Samik Roy Choudhury, White Hole Productions.
The song is available on all digital audio-video platforms from today.The band will now continue making fresh content this year.
