Kolkata, 19th July, 2018 : Today, ‘Sahaj Parav’ Kolkata Root Music Festival organised by Dohar and Lopamudra Production announced its three day diverse folk music festival at Indian Institute Of Cultural Relations, Kolkata in presence of Anindya Chattapadhyay, Tanmoy Bose, Tejendra Narayan Majumder, Srikanta Acharya, Joy Sarkar, Soumitra Ray along with other prominent personalities. It was also announced that the festival will keep continuing every year at the same time that is the first week of August.
It was started in the year 2014 and had shared with us the root music culture for 3 years. But due to the loss of “Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya” one of the masterminds, the festival did not take place previous year. But with his blessings the organizers are resuming it. The main motive of this festival is to bring the beauty and history of our cultural music to our new generation and to make everyone aware of it.
The Kolkata Root Music Festival ‘Sahaj Parav’ is all set to start from 3rd August to 5th August. Folk artists from across India and Bangladesh will share their skills. Numerous debates exhibition will also be held sharing vast culture and knowledge of music.
Inauguration of Sahaj Parav will be done by an esteemed theatre personality Padmasree Ratan Thyam from Manipur and the program will continue with other performances at Rabindra Sadan. On second day the program will continue at Sisir Mancha and at last day the beautiful festival will pack up at Rabindra Sadan and Sisir Mancha.
Sahaj Parav 2018 is a call for all the music lovers and to join them all together with traditional music and other forms of performing arts.
