Kolkata : SPML Infra Limited, a leading BSE, NSE listed Infrastructure Development Company,is the only Indian Water Management Company to be featured in World’s Top 40 Private Water Operators as per the survey of Global Water Intelligence, London, have recently shifted their headquarters from Delhi to Kolkata, held a press briefing at their office today.The discussion revolved mainly around SPML corporate expansion plans PAN India and the new project developments.
Mr. Subhash ChandSethi, Chairman, SPML Infra Limitedsaid,“We are currently executing 32 water supply and infrastructure development projects across the country including several key states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra,Delhi, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and other states. There are 15 power transmission, distribution and supply management projects in several states of India including Haryana, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal etc. Being the leading infrastructure company we are developing infrastructure projects worth INR 6000 crore which includes both water and power projects, across India. We have received two big projects in terms of value;first one is16 Nos of Power Substations projects in three districts of Tripura under North East Region (NER) Power System Improvement Scheme being funded by the World Bank; the second one is INR 500 crore from the Govt. of Gujarat for the Phase 2 of Saurashtra NarmadaAvtran Irrigation (SAUNI) Project.This new order for SAUNI project has been awarded to us after we successfully completed INR 600 Crore project under Phase 1 that was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister in April this year. We are actively bidding for water supply and power transmission & distribution projects in all major states of India under various state and central government agencies.”
Amongst the many projects undertaken by SPML, the notable ongoing projects are 24×7 urban water supply projects in to 6 cities of Karnataka – Bellari, Gadag-Bategiri, Haveri, Hospet, Raichur and Sindhanur apart from water supply improvement projects in the posh localities of Vasant Vihar in South Delhi for the period of 10-12 years, thus serving more than a million populations.
SPML Infra is also executingIndia’s largest AMR Metering project in Delhi for Delhi Jal Board to install 2.4 Lac AMR & Non AMR Water Meters with 7 years of operation & maintenance; the Pokhran Water Supply Project in Jaisalmer and Barmer district is slated to make drinking water available to around 580 villages of the areas, catering to a population of over 1.2 million people. Further to this, the project will also adhering to the water requirements of the Defense and Industries.
SPML Infra has recently completed the installation of 500 MVA Autotransformers, executing the power augmentation project in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh with design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of 1×500 MVA, 400/220kV autotransformer for the extension of 400/220 kV substation. This is amongst the highest rating in India for this type of transformer that will be used in a high-voltage AC transmission system to efficiently transmit power
SPML Infra also completed the installation of 220 KV GIS substation along with 220 KV D/C transmission line 26 nos 400 KV graded tower in Alipurduar, West Bengal that will augment the quality of power supply to the area.
Adding further Mr. Sethi said, “The company aggregate sales increased 14.5% to INR 1611 crore in FY 2016-2017, which compared favorably with the 4.8% growth of the country’s infrastructure sector. Company reported 8.6 % increase in EBITDA and 10 % in net profit. We are expecting more than 10% growth rate in the next 3 years.”
