Sony launches Xperia Z5 series of smartphones and claims to be the world’s first 4K display handset. The company also claims that the Xperia Z5 Premium can capture ultra high definition video and play it back on its 5.5 inches screen without downgrading the quality of the video. According to Sony, the handsets provide about 4 times the number of pixels as 1080p HD videos.
With more display resolution and HD capture of videos, it is generally considered that the battery backup would be hampered. However, Sony has got the answer to it. The phones are fitted with 3430mAh of battery and a MOD (memory on display) technology which enables the phone to display a static image without the requirement of extra processing power. This implies that once charged, the battery backup shall last up to 2 days.
