West Bengal Assembly Elections 2016: Mamata Banerjee’s TMC Ahead

Ruling party of West Bengal – Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee, is ahead in the race of Assembly Elections 2016 with 210 seats in the state. The LF+Congress unity has managed to secure 75 seats so far with Congress sharing 41 seats out of the total. The current status is given below:

TMC: 210

LF+Congress: 75

BJP: 5

Others: 4

Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters / workers around the city of Kolkata & other districts of West Bengal have commenced their winning celebrations. After the much controversial sting operations of Narada, where multiple TMC members were seen receiving bribes and also the fatal incident of the over-bridge collapse near Girish Park, Kolkata, the win indicates that the people of West Bengal are anticipating an answer from the re-elected chief minister of the state. Political experts suggest that to retain her position in the state in the next assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee has secured another tenure of 5 years to work on the industrial development, employment and corruption within her own political party.
