Route Mobile, a leading messaging technology service provider, is enhancing its service to telecom operators globally by signing a new agreement with Transaction Network Services (TNS) to use its Carrier ENUM solution.
TNS’ Carrier ENUM will provide vital Mobile Number Portability (MNP) look up services, allowing Route Mobile to route text messages faster and more cost effectively. Previously it had used several different MNP suppliers and performed its own Home Location Register (HLR) queries.
Rajdip Gupta, Chief Executive Officer at Route Mobile, said: “TNS’ Carrier ENUM provides us with a single source solution which includes a global MNP database. Switching to TNS streamlines our processes and makes us considerably more efficient, allowing us to reduce call setting times and deliver measurable subscriber satisfaction benefits to our operator customers.
“This move is also strategically important to our growth plans. Using a supplier with comprehensive global data will enable us to explore new markets and target growth without requiring costly or complex changes to our MNP infrastructure.”
Headquartered in India, Route Mobile was formed in 2004 and has grown to provide services in the UK, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria and Congo, as well as its home market. It routes 2.6 billion messages every month and is currently growing at a compound annual growth rate of over 50% year on year.
Joe Lueckenhoff, Executive Vice President and General Manager of TNS’ Telecommunication Services Division, said: “We’re delighted to be providing Route Mobile with our Carrier ENUM service which, as well as supporting the routing of SMS and voice messages, has recently been enhanced to handle LTE services. Comprehensive, reliable data is essential for SMS aggregators and telecom operators, and we’re proud of the real-time access we have established to authoritative international, industry, regulatory and carrier sourced data.”
TNS’ Carrier ENUM helps organizations to identify the carrier of record in order to route messages and calls effectively. It can also find and utilize the best routes offered by Route Mobile’s least-cost termination partners and generate real-time business intelligence reports. Interoperability challenges are not an issue as TNS ensures consistent Carrier ENUM server formats.
Route Mobile supports mobile network operators (MNOs), OTT companies, enterprises, aggregators and resellers. Its range of services includes SMS hubbing and firewalls, SMSC and SMPP platforms, voice and HLR solutions. It is authorized to handle both application-to-peer (A2P) and peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic for enterprises and MNOs.
TNS was founded over two decades ago. Its Telecommunication Services Division is a leading provider of mobile roaming and clearing, call management and authentication, fraud management, mobile identity, registry and network interoperability solutions. Its extensive experience in the ENUM sector spans more than 10 years.
Earlier this year, TNS announced the launch of a new Shared Registry Carrier ENUM solution which enables queries to be resolved even quicker, within one shared registry, rather than using the standard GSMA distributed model.
By continuously integrating and building on its own networks, TNS ensures they are specifically designed and configured for the transmission of transaction-related time sensitive data, can support a variety of widely accepted communications protocols and are scalable and accessible by multiple methods.
From small rural operators in the US to the largest multi-national carriers, TNS has over 500 operator partners and addresses the full needs of wireless and wireline operators in the US and globally. Since it was founded in 1990, TNS has grown to provide services in more than 60 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific region.
