Ruling party of West Bengal – Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee, is ahead in the race of Assembly Elections 2016 with 210 seats in the state. The LF+Congress unity has managed to secure 75 seats so far with Congress sharing 41 seats out of the total. The current status is given below:

After the much controversial sting operations of Narada, where multiple TMC members were seen receiving bribes and also the fatal incident of the over-bridge collapse near Girish Park, Kolkata, the win indicates that the people of West Bengal are anticipating an answer from the re-elected chief minister of the state. Political experts suggest that to retain her position in the state in the next assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee has secured another tenure of 5 years to work on the industrial development, employment and corruption within her own political party.
