Mamata Banerjee takes oath as Chief Minister of West Bengal

May 27, 2016 – Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee took oath as Chief Minister of West Bengal after being re-elected for her second tenure. The event was held at the Red Road in public. The re-elected chief minister stated, “We salute the people of Bengal who have showered us with their blessings and has given us the chance to serve them again. Today, 42 Ministers including me took oath in the swearing-in ceremony on Red Road, Kolkata.

mamata-banerjee-nobanyaHis Excellency the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Mr. Tshering Tobgay, His Excellency Minister of Industries, Bangladesh, Mr. Amir Hussain Amu, Union Ministers, Arun Jaitley ji, Ashok Gajapathi Raju ji, Babul Supriyo, Hon’ble Chief Ministers Nitish Kumar ji, Arvind Kejriwal ji, Akhilesh Yadav ji, senior leaders Dr. Farooq Abdullah ji, Lalu Prasad ji, Kanimozhi ji, Thota Narasimham ji graced the occasion.

Also present in the occasion were captains of industry, heads of several national and state media houses, dignitaries from the world of culture, sports, entertainment, eminent citizens, press and media, members of judiciary, armed forces, government officials and of course thousands and thousands of my brothers and sisters from different walks of life.

Mamata Banerjee entered her office ‘Nabanya’ around 1500 hours after the oath ceremony at Red Road.
