Rhapsody pioneered the paid music streaming service when it launched in 2001. Rhapsody was the first music service to sign licensing agreements with all major labels, the first streaming music service to launch an iOS app, the first streaming service to provide off-line play, to offer a broad catalog of major label content for full-track play on Twitter, and the first to give artists a platform to reach their super-fans with merchandise offers. Today, under the Rhapsody and Napster brands, they are a top tier streaming music service with over 3.5 million paying customers, a global catalog of more than 35 million songs available in more than 30 countries.
